When I tried to print a DXF file from AutoCAD 2000, I got the error “Internal error: OCTTREE 2″. The title on the message window is “AutoCAD Error Aborting”.
Autocad assigns a number to each entity in the dwg. It also stores a value
equal to the total number of entities in the dwg. When Acad opens the dwg
(dxf in this case) it counts the number of entities. If the count is more
than the indicated number of entities, it decides to not open thereby
requiring the user to take some other action. Since this was a dxf file, the
first thing to try is SORTENTS. If that doesn’t work than you have to try
using RECOVER to open the file. If that doesn’t work……………..it’s
probably hopeless.
